Trekking & Teaching
Saraa and Julie have been working together 10 years to share the magic of Mongolia with folks from around the world AND to change the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children and families on the planet .
Together they have travelled thousands of miles across Mongolia - both on horseback and by car - to raise money to help Mongolian children and families in need. Saraa is the owner / manager of Saraa's Ger Camp and Co Owner of Horse Trek Mongolia and she has lived the vast majority of her life in a ger and as a nomadic herder. In addition to this she is also a qualified and experienced Mongolian language teacher and it is in this capacity that she first met Julie. Saraa's dedication to sharing Mongolian history and culture with folks from around the world has led her to undertake this next adventure to become the premier purveyor of fine, time tested, Mongolian gers and to ensure that people from around the world who want to have a little piece of Mongolia in their own back yard can do so...and know that their ger is not only and authentic and ecologically sound housing or holiday alternative, but also that they are helping to solve the world's homelessness crisis and allowing families here in Mongolia to take the first step toward the security of having their own home so they can move forward with a full and rewarding live. Julie is the Vice President of Veloo Foundation and Expeditions Chief for Horse Trek Mongolia. Through her efforts the world's longest annual charity endurance adventure, The Gobi Gallop , has raised in excess of half a million dollars for the Children of the Peak Sanctuary Project and she is looking forward to 2022 when she, together with Saraa and the team from Horse Trek Mongolia will undertake what looks to possibly be the longest charity ride in history - the 3,600 km / 84 day Blue Wolf Totem Expedition.
